“Earlier in the year the arthritis I was suffering from in knee, hip, hands and shoulders became progressively worse and I found I was unable to do many of the everyday tasks I always enjoyed.
I decided to do some self-help, so embarked on a low carb healthy eating plan along with exercise which I doubted I would be able to do.

I joined Carmen’s Tuesday class in early summer and enjoyed my first class so much I went along to the Thursday class the same week.  I continued with the exercise every week, and slowly I could achieve more of the moves, my general health improved and more importantly my feeling of general wellbeing and optimism returned….

At every class Carmen told us to do what we could, and stop if it is uncomfortable, meaning there was no pressure.  I also loved the music, the company of ladies of a similar age and the inclusive feel of the classes, everyone is made to feel welcome irrespective of ability.
In October I finally had my hip replacement, the occupational therapist and the physio therapist both congratulated me for being as healthy and strong as I could be prior to surgery. They were very interested to hear of the classes I had attended with Carmen in Peebles. They felt the movement classes contributed to what has been a good recovery. Once I am back to full mobility I look forward to returning to class”

I enjoy our Christmas lunch as well. Once we have done our 1 hour class, we have a cup of tea and biscuits and a lovely chat which is very welcome. And you make new friends, which is always good for your mental health as well. The class gets you out and about, and I will certainly be continuing with the class as long as I can.
